George Britton, William Tidmarsh and James Glover were placed at the bar, charged with breaking and entering the dwelling-house of one Samuel Bruce, and stealing therein one straw hat, one spoon, one tin pot, and some other trifling articles, together of the value of about 14s. Sentence; Death commuted to Life. 1838 - 2 June. Trial. Hobart Town. Sentence; Life 1860 - 30 Aug 1860, Port Arthur Insane Asylum: Disease; Amentia. Aged; 47. R. Catholic. 1861 - 14 April 1861. Sent to Hospital for Treatment of the inflammation of the eye 1862 - 26 May 1862. Discharged from the Port Arthur Insane Asylum: to the Invalid Yard 1863 - 29 Aug 1863, Port Arthur Insane Asylum: 1866 - Aged 51 [or 48] 30 years in the colony 1873 - 9 Jun 1873, Re-admitted to Port Arthur Insane Asylum from the separate prison when he was waiting trial charged with a violent assault on a pauper named Edward Jones a cripple: Disease; Mania 1876 - 29 February. Improved and removed to pauper hospital 1877 - Cascades Invalid Depot Admission dates: 17 Apr 1877 to 15 May 1877 Ship to colony: Emperor Alexander Discharged to General Hospital 15 May 1877 1877 - 15 May. DIED in the General Hospital Hobart.
