From the description of petition file contents, prisoner's father was a York ironmonger called John Glover. Initial sentence was death.

William Glover last worked in the Waterloo Steam Packet at Hull, he was transported for 'House Breaking' in the house of Mr. Hillcock, York. William was married with 1 child - at Harkendale. 1830-35: Assigned to Mr. Robert Mather. May 1824: Tried at the Supreme Court and sentenced to 7 years. 6/8/1824: Hobart Town Gazette: Judgment respited.
