William was the son of George Goldfinch and Mary Sythers. William was transported with his 1st cousin, James Goldfinch (also aboard Parmelia). Their fathers were brothers. William's occupation was listed as a Carpenter/Shepherd. 29/7/1837: Assigned to Messrs. Wright & Long - 50 lashes for insolence to his overseer. 13/6/1843: TOL, Maitland 26/11/1846: COF 7/9/1843: Married Mary Concannon/Cuncannon, she was born in Galway Ire., C1825 and died 27/8/1885 at the Hyde Park Asylum, Sydney, aged 60. They had 8 children. 17/11/1863: William died at Dunlop Station, Darling River, NSW.
