Convict Notes
H. Donelly and J. Good, artillery drivers, were indicted for stealing a sheep. On their return home to their barracks, about twelve o'clock at night, on the of October last, they called with a sheep on a fellow soldier, of the name of Brown, which they proposed to him to kill and skin, and that he should have part for his trouble. On his refusal, they put it into an adjoining hut, left it. Information being given the next morning, by Brown, they were taken into custody, and the sheep proved to belong to a Mr. Payne, and to have been taken out of a field near at hand.—Guilty—Death.
