In the 1822 Census there is an entry again for Edward and Mary Browning... Goodwin, Edward, ticket of leave, Indian, life, landholder, Windsor. Browning, Mary, free by servitude, Friends, wife of E. Goodwin, Windsor. 3 un-named children of M. Browning. ## The ship detail would appear to be incorrect!! There was no Edward Gooden located on the indents for the "Indian". In the 1828 Census Edward is alone: Page 165... [Ref G0703] Gooden, Edward, 60, Fortune, 1806, 7 years, labourer, Richard porter, Kissing Point. The only other Edward is [Ref G0709] and is clearly the "Scarborough" Edward with his family. Mary Browning (Convict, 1811, "Friends") was a woman of some concern, multiple crimes in the colony and multiple partners. ## Check her record!!

There does seem to be some confusion over Edward. However, I believe that most of the evidence is fairly clear. Edward is mentioned in the 1806 Muster: Page 45... [Ref A1763] Edward Goodwin, Fortune, Prisoner at Castle Hill. ## There is another convict named Edward Goodwin, he was transported on the "Scarborough" and by 1806 is well established with property and a family [Ref A1654]. In the 1814 Muster; Page 13... [Ref 0532] Edward Goodwin, Fortune, Off Stores, Landholder. Page 40... [Ref 1749] Mary Browning, Friends, 2 children, wife to Edward Goodwin. ## The other Edward is still present in the colony, [Ref 4707] with his wife Ann Thomas [Ref 6259] na 8 children, There is no other Edward Goodwin entered in the muster record
