Jane Goodwin convict number 29757 was born in Ireland, city Cork,in 1828 ( could have been 1830 as marriage certificate in 1856 states her age as 26) died in Sale Victoria on 30 May 1866. Her genetic parents name was William and Mary Stevenson and she changed her surname to Goodwin from her proper name of Rebecca Stevenson.convicted of house robbery and also for tormenting gentleman five times in August 1848 and arrived in Hobart 23 July 1849 on ship Maria. 1850 had several offences in Hobart, drunkenness-seven days in cells. Absconded-and received two months hard labour. 14th of December 1851 delivered an illegitimate Child at the Cascades. 25th of October 1853 received ticket of leave. 27th of February 1854 absconded. 7th of March 1854 ticket of leave revoked,was put on probation twice before obtaining full ticket of leave 14th of October 1856. She married convict Joseph green the day after, 15th of October 1856. Their daughter Charlotte Green married John Thomas Poole. Jane Goodwin description--at time of sentencing, height 5'1" age 22?, complex SALLOW, head LARGE, hair DARK BROWN, visage LARGE, eyes VERY SMALL, nose and mouth LARGE, chin LARGE.
