Family connections for Margaret (Gordon) are: GORDON Margaret (Gordon) was born about 1780. She married, at age about13?, Matthew (Gibbons his first marriage) on 17 6 1793 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She travelled to UK with her husband in 1794. She was tried at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict with her family on 14 12 1801 after a voyage of 6.5months on Fleet ship MINORCA. She is recorded with her husband in 1802, 1806 & 1811 as Free by Servitude. In June 1814 she returned to UK with her family on JAMES HAY. Then in October 1822 she travelled back to NSW on HEROINE with some of her family. She is recorded in 1828 as Came Free. Margaret (Gordon) does not have an entry on this Website as yet-added by me; although Sarah (Gordon) is found] Matthew John (Gibbons) was born in 1765 & became a labourer. He was tried for stealing, on 15 6 1787, tea from East India Co. at probably Old Bailey on 11 7 1787, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 7months on Fleet ship SURPRISE; a voyage noted for extreme brutality of prisoners with a high death rate. He was Free by Servitude by 1794 & returned to UK with his wife. He arrived back in NSW free with a family on 14 12 1801 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship MINORCA. He is recorded with his wife in 1802, 1806 & 1811 as Free by Servitude. In June 1814 he returned again to UK with his family on JAMES HAY. Then in October 1822 he travelled back to NSW on HEROINE with some of his family. He is recorded in 1828 as Came Free. He died on 20 7 1835 age70 at his home in Kent Street Sydney father of at least 7children.
