Family connections for Ellen (Gott) are: GOTT John (Gott) was born in June & became a shoemaker He married ??? (???) & produced 7children: 1.Ellen/Eleanor (Gott) was born in 1765 at Liverpool Lancashire & baptised on 26 10 1765 at St Peters Liverpool & became a shoemaker. She was tried for stealing from Charles (Norris) at Liverpool Lancaster Lancashire Quarter Sessions on 3 8 1789, sentenced to 3years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship NEPTUNE; she was Protestant. She married firstly Joseph (Wright) in 1790 at St Phillips CofE Sydney & produced 7children. She was Free by Servitude by 1797. He was tried for stealing lead, on 6 5 1784, off William (Rothwel)s roof at Old Bailey on 26 5 1784, sentenced to 7years, probably held at London or Middlesex Gaol Delivery & on hulk CENSOR on Thames River Woolwich & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 1 1788 after a voyage of 8.5months on First Fleet ship SCARBOROUGH. He was granted 30acres on 3 11 1794 at Mulgrave Place Hawkesbury which he named 'Wright Farm'. He was Free by Servitude by 1797. In 1802 he is recorded as off stores with his family on 30acres at Hawkesbury. In 1806 he is recorded as on stores with his family at Mulgrave Place. In 1828 he was recorded as Free by Servitude with his family on 30acres at Hawkesbury. She was recorded in 1828 as Free by Servitude with her husband at Pitt Town & her husbands relative. She died on 28 4 1843 age77 at Pitt Town mother of 7children, leaving her farm boat & animals to her children. Daniel (Buckridge) son of Christian (Buckaridge) & Sarah (???) of Horton Falgate was born on 9 6 1772 at Shoreditch Middlesex & baptised on 19 7 1772 at St Leonards Shoreditch Hackney Middlesex. He was tried for highway robbery of silver coin w/2others, on 1 1 1791, of Rebecca (Gale) at Old Bailey on 12 1 1791, sentenced to death commuted to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW on 14 2 1792 after a journey of 8months on PITT; much fever & attempts to escape from the ship resulted in deaths of convicts-of the 450convicts on board only 29 were alive at muster in May 1792 (or perhaps only this many could be mustered); he was Protestant. He was issued his Ticket of Leave on 11 8 1810 & his Conditional Pardon on 31 3 1812 at Pitt Town, He was issued his Absolute Pardon on 31 1 1814. He was recorded on 13 1 1816 at Hawkesbury. On 13 1 1818 he was granted 50acres at Castle Hill. He was recorded in 1828 as farmer 15acres cleared at Pitt Town with his wife & his relative (nephew) George (Buckridge). He died on 18 6 1834 age62 & was buried at Pitt Town cemetery. Ellen's first marriage was to Joseph Wright (First Fleet Convict, Scarborough, 1788) and her second was to Daniel Buckridge (Convict, Pitt, 1792). She appears in the 1828 Census: Page 69... [Ref B3063] Buckridge, Daniel, 57, conditional pardon, Wm. Pitt, 1792, life, Protestant, farmer, Pitt Town, 15 acres, 15 acres cleared and cultivated. [Ref B3064] Buckridge, Eleanor, 57, free by servitude, Neptune, 1790, 3 years, Protestant.

Ellen or (Eleanor according to some records) was born 1765 in Liverpool Eng. her baptism recorded at St.Peter's Liverpool on 26/10/1765. Her father is shown as John Gott, Shoemaker. There is no reference to her mothers name. Other Christenings recorded to John Gott are -John 15/11/1767, John 21/1/1770, Samuel 2/2/1772, Betty 13/3/1774, Henry 27/9/1776 and Moses 25/4/1779. Ellen was found guilty of theft of various items from a Charles Norris, the trial was held on 3rd. August 1789 at Liverpool Quarter Sessions, where she was sentenced to 3years transportation. She arrived in Sydney in June 1790, aboard the "Neptune" one of the Second Fleet Hell Ships. Ellen was able to sign her name and had learned her father's trade of "shoemaker". When she died on 28th April,1843 she left a farm, boat, horse, cart and harness to her children. Ellen's second marriage to Daniel Buckridge 31/3/1812 (Ref.Vol.3A No.1337) Ellen was buried at Pitt Town under the name of Ellen Buckridge ( her second Marriage) on the 28th April 1843 (ref Vol.27B No.588) The service conducted by Chas C Kemp. -------------------- Note IN10Arrived in NSW on "Neptune" 1790.
