Mary Grealis was convicted at Mayo, Ireland on 26 June 1850 for stealing money. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the ship 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Aged 32yrs; widow; country servant; Roman Catholic. Native place - Tipperary Brothers: Patrick, John, James. Sister: Johanna Assignments in Colony, Hobart district. Marriage permission 1851 to William Jenkins (free). Married 1852 (ref. Conduct Record) Ticket of Leave 15 Nov 1853 Conditional Pardon 27 July 1857 Hobart.
