Patrick Green was transported on the Waterloo, departing 21st May 1836 and arriving 6th Sep 1836 with 220 passengers.
1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Convict Notes




The Convict indentures state that Patrick Green was 19 years old. He could read; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Tipperary. He was a stable boy. Patrick was convicted of stealing a waistcoat at Kilkenny City on 16 January 1836 and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: height 5 feet 3 inches; complexion sallow; hair brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 126. Prisoner number 36-1929. NSW 1837 General muster states that Patrick Green was assigned to i) Hyde Park Barracks in Sydney and ii) Mr David Hill in Sydney. Received Certificate of Freedom on 8 November 1844 (number 44/1680).
