He was a boatbuilder when he married Maria (Bates sister William) on 19 4 1830 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. ..Maria (Bates) was born on 14 12 1808 at Port Dalrymple & baptised on 1 4 1810 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She was recorded in 1828 at Bates Lane Sussex St with her parents. She married George (Green brother Mary Ann) also a boat builder on 19 4 1830 at St Phillips CofE Sydney.
