Another user wrote he couldnt find why he returned to the UK - He had a English family before being transported twice to Aus.
He was my 5th Great Grandfather and my 4th Great grandfather witnessed the death of which i have the death certificate and therefore know the corrrect date.

David Greville had a family in England before being transported to Australia for stealing. Davids de facto wife and later his wife in Sydney had a grandson William Charles a banker in Bathurst NSW. He used many of the Earl of Warwicks Greville family Christian names for his children. It is unknown whether there was indeed a connection. My mother always believed there was but family papers were torn up after an argument when they were told they would never know who their family was. She had no idea that David was a convict and only knew back to Davids son William Charles
