Benjamin Thomas Grimley/Grumley was 21 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported for stealing from the dwelling house of Augustus Katenbeck, a Linen Draper. Benjamin was 5'9" tall, grey eyes, lt red/brown hair, fair complexion, single. 1833 Muster: PW 1835 Muster: Invalid. 11/6/1832: PW New Town/Leaving the gang-14 days imprisonment with hard labour. 17/11/1835: Invalid in the hospital - Absent from the hospital and in the township without authority - Returned to the hospital, being insane. 30/7/1836: Absent from muster-acquitted. 26/7/1837: PW/Assaulting George Waters, labouring under a state of insanity-put in the hospital. 23/10/1839: Misconduct - Cell on bread and water 3 days. 13/7/1840: Drunk - Confined to the ?? 2 months. 21/6/1844: TOL.
