Jeremiah Pendergass was named as the ring leader and shot. 44 deaths in total on this voyage. There was then another ship, also named, "Hercules" built 1822 at Whitby, England who made 3 trips to Austraia, in 1825, 1830 & 1832.

Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. Sylvester Grogan, age 27, per Hercules II, 1830, Tried at Roscommon, 1829, Life, Offence, Murder. DOB, 1803, Native place, Leitrim. Married 1 male 1 female children, catholic, Miller. Died 1838, at Newcastle Hospital. -------------------------------------------------- Roscommon, Aug. 4. Murder of Captain Cox. Sylvester Grogan, Michael Grogan, Edmund Gil- born, John Burchill, Patrick Hunt, Francis M'Manus, Patrick M'Manus, of Tullagh, were arraigned for the murder of Capt. Cox, master of the Arigna Iron Works, in February, 1828. At the last Summer Assizes the prisoners were tried for the same offence. The jury, together with the prisoners, were taken to the boundary of the county by the sheriff, where the jury were discharged, and the prisoners brought back to Roscommon gaol. ...
