Cambridge Chronicle and Journal Cambridgeshire, England 31 Jul 1818 ESSEX ASSIZES Joseph Groom and Isaac Mow/c, for burglary in the dwelling-house of B. Norden, at Bollingdon, and stealing therein 20 yards of Irish cloth, shirting, and other items. (That should read: Isaac Mowle - he was also on board Hibernia). 30/8/1827: TOL GOVERNMENT NOTICE, [No. 35-] Colonial Secretary's Office. Feb. 17,1830. Joseph Groom, 114, Hibernia, has been deprived of his Ticket of Leave for illegally harbouring a female Convict. By command of the Lieutenant Governor, J. BURNETT. 24/6/1834 Colonial Times, Hobart: Joseph Groom was sentenced six months to the Grass-tree hill road party, for being drunk and ill-using the horses in his charge, the property of Government. 234/8/1835: Burial Date. Interred by the Coroner - Accidental Death - bruised by a cartwheel passing over his body. Joseph died at H.M. Colonial Hospital, Hobart.
