He was born 16th Dec.1828 Sclater st.Bethnal Green London,the son of William Grout and Charlotte Cushway. Old Bailey Feb.1857 witness to the theft of his horse and cart. Old Bailey Aug.1857 Not guilty to receiving stolen goods. Old Bailey Dec.1864 transportation 10 years for receiving stolen goods. Leaving wife Elizabeth with six children to care for Died 27th Feb.1875 in Freemantle ,Australia.
