23 April 1850: Application for Permission to Marry - to Martha KIRKHAM (transported per 'Tory'). Approved. 20 May 1850: Marriage, at Bothwell, VDL. Richard GROVES aged 36yrs, a groom, to Martha KIRKHAM aged 34yrs, a needlewoman. (ref. 37/1/9 no. 56) 23 July 1879: Death of Richard GROVES. Aged 60yrs, a horse dealer. Found dead in a field at Hollow Tree, Hamilton district, Tasmania. (ref. 35/1/48 no. 259) Inquest concluded - natural causes. (ref. POL 709/1/16 1879)
