National Archives. ADM 101/67/2/1 Diary of the convict ship Shipley for 19 November 1816 to 3 May 1817 by George Clayton, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the ship was employed in carrying convicts, soldiers and passengers from England to New South Wales. Folio 3: 20 November 1816: Received 70 convicts on board at Woolwich apparently in health except five with ulcerated legs.  Folio 3: 25 November 1816: Ed Gunning, convict, aged 44 applied with the toes of both feet frost bitten. Folio 10: 2 February 1817: Edward Gunnery (frost bitten case) discharged cured.

Committed to Gloucester County Gaol. —John Carter, Edward Gunning, and George Millet, ... Charged with burglariously entering the dwelling-house of I. Rickett  and stealing therefrom silver spoons, value 40s. and sundry other articles, his property ; Bristol Mirror, 6 April 1816. the following prisoners received sentence of death, but were afterwards reprieved — … Rd.
