George Hacking and William Chippindale, charged with having stolen in the dwelling house of Nicholas Grimshaw, at Woodfields, divers bank notes of the value of 1691. a gold watch, and various other articles. Lancaster Gazette, 10 Feb 1816. -------------------------------------------------- No Bills. No prosecution against … and W. Chippendall, for felony. Lancaster Gazette, 30 Mar 1816. -------------------------------------------------- Lancashire Assizes. The Judge passed...sentence of Death upon the prisoners capitally convicted, as follow: … and George Hacking; (27) for felonies. … The Judge was pleased to reprieve the whole of those prisoners condemned, with the exception of Michael Henshaw, for maliciously shooting, and John Jones, for forgery.
