6 Oct 1834: Application for permission to marry - to Thomas Arnott, free by servitude (transported per Calcutta), widower. Sarah Hainsworth per 'Mary'. Approved. 20 Nov 1834: Marriage to Thomas Arnott, widower (register has her name as "Ainsworth"). Married at the School House, Clarence Plains, Tas. (ref. 36/1/2 no. 2661)

Sarah Hainsworth was transported for stealing a watch. She had a prior conviction for stealing a 5 pound note - 4 months goal. She was born in Stanley near Leeds, Yorkshire. Sarah was 27 on arrival at VDL and was described as: Single, could not read or write, protestant, hazel grey eyes, brown hair and 4' tall. Tattoos:HPF 5 dots on right arm, SH 12 spots and PW left arm. She was a House Servant and could wash, iron and was a plain cook. 1832: Assigned to Mr. Reeves. 1833: Assigned to Mrs. Reeves. 1835: While assigned to Mrs Reeves, Sarah died, 15/4/1835.
