TICKETS-OF-LEAVE CANCELLED. THE Tickets-of-Leave granted to the under A mentioned Prisoners of the Crown, have been cancelled for the reasons set against their respective names. Hall John, per Baring (1), harbouring a Female Prisoner of the Crown; district of Bathurst. NSW Govt. Gazette, 1 Oct 1841.

John HALL was born 1792 in Durham, England. On 27 February 1814 he stole a black gelding from a stable at Goosepool, Longnewton, England. On the 6th August 1814 he was tried at the Durham Assizes and sentenced to life for stealing a black gelding and transported to Australia onboard the "Baring". John was 5 foot 9 3/4 tall, with ruddy complexion, brown curly hair and hazel eyes. In 1817 John was sentenced to 3 years solitary confinement on bread and water. After his release John settled down with Ann Amelia ANDREWS, another convict who arrived onboard the "Mary Ann". John was granted a conditional pardon on 1 October 1848. He died in 1858 in Yass, NSW, Australia.
