The ship named 'Providence' was built in Calcutta, India in 1808. 649 tons. The 1811 voyage brought many convicts from Ireland to Australia. 73rd Regiment. Also several free settlers. 5-6 deaths on voyage. The ship was lastly scuttled at St. Martin's, Isle of Scilly in 1833.

Committed to our county gaol, ...Elizabeth Nicholls and Charlotte Hallam, for breaking into a dwelling-house at Darlaston, in the day-time, no person therein, and stealing a pair of half boots, the property of James Craddock and for breaking into another dwelling-house at Trentham and stealing two shirts, and other articles, the property of Richard Hewitt; .. Staffordshire Advertiser, 9 Sept 1820 Transported for 7 years: ... Charlotte Hallam, for stealing wearing apparel at Trentham. Imprisonment for one year, Elizabeth Nicholls, an accomplice with the above named Charlotte Hallam; Stafordshire Advertiser, 21 Oct 1820.
