5/8/1836: WEST BRITON, Richard Pike Ham (46) for stealing one pair of trousers, 10 waistcloths, and a neckcloth, the property of John Lowe; also charged with having stolen in the parish of St Stephens Launceston a ewe sheep property of William Spittigue; the skin was sold to Thos Phillips a dealer, William Stacy butcher saw the carcass at a stall, Charles Atkins character witness knew prisoner 40 years as an honest man but after loss of his wife thought him deranged; Guilty; Transportation beyond the seas for the term of his natural life. Richard Pyke Ham was 26 years old, a widower, with 2 children. Sick List of the Susan 1837: Folios 14-15: case no 8, Richard Pike Ham, aged 48, convict; taken ill at sea; disease or wound, dyspepsia and debility; put on sick list 28 September 1837, died 19 November 1837 at 7 pm.
