COLONIAL Secretary's Office, Sydney, 17th February, 1846.-The following descriptions of Grants of Land, with the names of the persons to whom they were originally promised, or by whom they are now claimed, are published for general information, in order that all parties concerned may have an opportunity of correcting any errors or omissions that may have been made inadvertently. It is requested that within one month from the present date the required particulars may be accurately furnished. If these be duly furnished and satisfactory, and if no caveat be lodged, or other cause of uncertainty appeal, the deeds will be prepared accordingly, as soon as possible after the expiration of the stated period of one month. If the required particulars be not furnished within that period, or if a caveat be lodged, or other cause of uncertainty arise, which cannot be satisfactorily determined by the Government, the case will be referred to the Commissioners of Claims, and the parties subjected to the expense of that proceeding. CAMDEN. 2. George Hambridge, 50 acres, at West Bargo. Promised by Sir T. Brisbane, on the 14th April, 1825, to G. Hambridge, Quit-rent 7s 6d. per annum, commencing 1st January, 1831. 3. John Hambridge, 50 acres, at West Bargo. Promised by Sir T. Brisbane, on 22nd March, 1825, to J. Hambridge. Quit rent 7s. 6d. per annum, commencing 1st January, 1831. Sydney Morning Herald, 25 Feb 1846. Case No. 1251.—George Hambridge, of Covents Farm, Bringelly. Fifty acres, in the county of Camden, parish un-named, at West Bargo; bounded on the west by a line north twenty minutes east eighteen chains, and dividing it from a marked road of one chain wide between it and the grants of John Higgins and D. Green; on the north by a line bearing east twenty minutes north twenty-eight chains; on the east by a line bearing south twenty minutes east eighteen chains; and on the south by George Hambridge's fifty acres west twenty minutes south twenty-eight chains. This land was ocated on an order of Sir Thomas Brisbane, dated 22nd March, 1826, in favor of John Hambridge, deceased; claimant alleges that he is the nearest relation and heir-at-law. Remarks: Vessel wrongly named as Hercules, 1802. -------------------------------------------------------- Date 1 Jan 1825. Petition of John Hambridge. Showeth that Petitioner came to the Colony by the ship Indian in 1810 under sentence of transportation for Life, obtained a Conditional Pardon in the year 1816, and now resides in the district of Cooke. That Petitioner having four head of horned cattle, with every utensil fit for a farm, and being ? able to maintain one Government Man off the Stores. Petitioner therefore humbly solicits your Excellency the Governor to take his case into your favourable consideration and be pleased to extend to him the Indulgence of a Grant of Land, avoiding to the ...present ... -------------------------------------------------- Colonial Secretary’s office, 22 March 1825. Instructions below: same to John Hambridge, Cooke. On Wednesday, Sir S. Lawrence and Sir T. Sutton opened the commission for holding the Assizes of this county, when W. Bennett, J. way, J. Hambridge, sen. and J. Hambridge, jun, for a burglary in the dwelling-house of C. Chadlington; and ... were capitally and received sentence of Death. Hampshire Chronicle, 10 Mar 1806.
