The assizes for the county of Devon will commence at the Castle Exeter next, before Sir Simon Blanc, and Sir Robert Grab, Knights, when the following prisoners are to take their trials, viz. Elizabeth Rich, … for housebreaking; … Mary Hammett, for receiving stolen goods; ... Royal Cornwall Gazette, 3 Aug 1805. Elizabeth Rich and Mary Hammett, charge with robbing the house of Samuel Tiler, esq. of Backwell Somerset, of a number of valuable articles, were ordered to be removed by Habeas Corpus to that county. Exeter Flying Post, 15 August, 1805.
