Petition for pardon submitted (The National Archives HO17/130/4) Petitioner, Hancock's widowed mother Mary of 9 Widcombe Parade, Lyncombe and Widcombe. Hancock broke into house belonging to Mrs Maria Dallimore and stole a flute, the property of surgeon, Alexander Ogilvie. Gaoler reported that Hancock's character believed to be good. Grounds for clemency: youth, first offence, respectable family; led astrya by others. Prisoner held in Ilchester gaol. Ordered to Ganymede hulk, Woolwich.
