Father, George Hancock, Mother, Sarah Ann Archer. John Hancock married Caroline Kerrison, 4/7/1836 in Perth, Tasmania. 5xIssue. Then in 1845, set out for Adelaide/Mt Barker on thre 'Henry'. 7xIssue Mt Barker. 1860 moved to Victorian Goldfields, 3xIssue. John Hancock's brother, William henry Hancock was also Tried & Convicted of the same crime (jointly). Wlliam Henry Hancock b. 10/6/1798 Transported to NSW. He died in the Windsor Hospital, Sydney 16/4/1840.

John Hancock was indicted for teatling 32 live fowls, the property of William Robinson. He was born in Holloway middlesex. Description:25, dark complexion, dark brown hair, round head, 5'3" tall, no whiskers, long fce, dark brown arched eyebrows, dark hazel eyes, medium large nose, wide mouth, thick lips and a long chin. He was married with 2 children. 8/2/1830: PB - Drunk and disorderley yesterday morning, 25 lashes. 10/5/1830: PB - Drunk in the PB on Saturday night last, treadwheel for 7 days. 22/7/1830: PB - Disobeyance of orders yesterday - treadwheel 7 days. 20/9/1830: PB - Drunk in the PB last saturday night, 12 lashes. 24/1/1831:Ditto, treadwheel 6 days 14/2/1831:Ditto, 2 dozen lashes. 24/4/1831: Neglecting his work, 6 weeks imprisonment with hard labour. 17/4/1839: Ditto, 25 lashes. 29/1/1834: Ditto, 25 lashes. 12/6/1834:PW - AWOL, 30 lashes. Death possibly 1877 Hobart (No proof tho)
