1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

At ten o’clock yesterday, Peace-officer Campaigne, of this office, arrested a man of the name of William Hands who offered for sale a silver watch at a Pawn-broker’s in Pembroke-quay Lieutenant Larcom identified the watch as the one he lost the night before but he could not identify the person who offered it for sale. Informations were then taken against Hands, and he was fully committed to abide his trial at the next .. Enniskillen Chronicle, 21 Oct 1830. William Hands was indicted for wilfully assaulting W. E. Larcon, Esq., and taking from his person a silver watch. The prisoner pleaded guilty. The clerk asked the prisoner if he was aware that by pleading guilty, his life was forfeited ? Prisoner—I am. Clerk of the Crown—And will you still persist in your plea of guilty? Prisoner— Yes, Sir. The prisoner was ordered to be removed, and the Court adjourned to this morning.
