Hannah Tod was transported on the Margaret, departing 1st Sep 1838 and arriving 5th Jan 1839 with 170 passengers.

Built 1829 at Chepstow. 365 tons. Female prisoners were transported to New South Wales on the 'Margaret' in 1837, 1839 and 1840. The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. First in Parramatta Female Factory where had a daughter Sarah Ann Haguin around 1844. Hannah then moved to Kelso Female Factory where she obtained her Ticket of Freedom in 1845. (Ticket number: 45/630)

The Convict Indentures state that Hannah Tod was 27 years old. Rose could neither read or write; religion Protestant; status married with two sons and one daughter. She was native of County Tyrone. She was a county servant. Hannah was convicted of stealing fowls at Tyrone on 27 December 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had one prior conviction for which she served two months. Physical attributes: Height 4 feet 9 1/4 inches; complexion dark ruddy and freckled; hair brown and eyes brown. Transport number 108 and prisoner number 106-39 Received Certificate of Freedom in 1845 (No. 45/630)
