While I don't have details of his birth, John Hannah's Baptism records are given below. Name John Hannah Event Type Baptism Father John Hannah Mother Eleanor Hannah Baptism Date 2 Jun 1813 Baptism Place Whitehaven, Cumberland, England Denomination Scotch Presbyterian Piece Title Piece 0571: Whitehaven, James Street Chapel (Scotch Presbyterian), 1793-1858 His partner/wife was Ellen Cosgrove, although she was known as Ellen Dean while a convict in Van Diemen's Land. She used the surname 'Dean' from when she was first charged with forgery (with John Hannah) back in Liverpool. When John registered Ellen's fourth child "Mary Jane Hannah" on 12 Feb 1850, he used her correct maiden name of 'Cosgrove'. This was 10 months after her Ticket of Leave & 6 months before her Certificate Freedom were granted. It was the first time I found her correct (maiden) name in Van Diemen's records.

Spouse transported about the same time to Van Diemen's Land. Worked in Female Factory. Had a son William Hannah. Confusing as names seem to change. Her name might have been mary Jones alias Connor or Ellen Cosgrove. Conflicting information. Not confident at this stage as to whether all this info is correct. Regards Trish
