National Archives of Ireland. Ireland – Australia Database. Convict Bernard Hanan, Trial Place, Co. Down. Sentence: Death, commuted to transportation for Life. Petitioner, Margaret Gordon, Mother. Doc Ref: PPC 2302. Convict served 3 years in the Navy and on returning to Ireland was employed by Earl O'Neill as Bargeman on Lough Neagh. Petitioner states that two of his sons were killed at Waterloo and her brother by the rebels. Claims to be a relative of the Duke of Gordon. Petition received 10 April 1824.
