At Chelmsford Assizes, James Hansted, Mary Barrett, John Hurst and another, for burglary, were capitally convicted, but all reprieved. Bury and Norwich Post, 29 July 1812. At our Assizes, James Hansted, for stealing on a navigable river, to the amount of 40s,; Mary Barrett, for stealing a quantity of satin, a 50. Bank of England note, and ... the property of her mistress; John Hurst and another, for burglary, were capitally convicted, and received sentence of death but were all reprieved before the Judge left the town. ..
