Suffolk Assizes. … James Woodgate, for stealing a grey mare pony, the property of John Newby, of Wenhaston ; and Geo. Woodgate, Stephen Baldry, Thos. Barnaby Benjamin Hazelop, and Israel Woodgate, for breaking into the dwellinghouse of Stephen Capon, of Hinton, and stealing six sacks of white clover seed, with the sacks; were all capitally convicted, and sentence of death recorded. Cambridge Chronicle, 13 Aug 1824.




Died of Debility, aged 29 - became melancholy at leaving behind his wife and family - as per ship journal (named Benjamin Hazelip - possible spelling error). Tried at Bury St. Edmonds.
