Convict Permission to Marry. John Harper, per Albion (2), age 32, Life, T of L; and Jane Ogden, age 16, Free. Date of Permission, 209 Jan 1842, Wollongong.
On Friday last, two men, named Joseph Perrin and John Harper, underwent an examination before John Avgles, Esq. at the Town Hall, charged with breaking open the counting-house of Mr .Henry Simmonds, at the Bridge Wharf, as stated in our last. After a most laborious investigation which lasted for eight hours, the prisoners were fully committed for trial at the ensuing Assizes. Perrin has only lately regained his liberty. About twelve months since he was convicted of breaking open the counting house of Messrs. Brenchley and Co.’s brewery in this town, and received sentence of death, .. Maidstone Journal, 4 March 1828.
