Hulk Record HO-9-4 (2. p 22.) Received 26th May 1817. Moses Harper, aged 18, House breaking, Tried Worcester 8 Mar 1817, 7 years, Transported 3 Oct 1817. The Assizes for the County of Worcester terminated on Wednesday evening. The following are the sentences of the prisoners tried :— … Moses Harper, for breaking into the house of Philip Butler, of Draycott, and stealing money thereout ;… were capitally convicted, and received sentence of death. Of these convicts, all were reprieved before the Judges departed, with the exception of William Child, for the highway  robbery, who is left for execution. Aris’s Birmingham Gazette, 24 March 1817.
