PRINCIPAL SUPERINTENDANT'S OFFICE, Sydney, September 14, 1816. SEVERAL Prisoners having absconded from their Employment during this Week, and particularly the undermentioned, it is hereby directed that every Exertion shall be made on the Part of the Police, as well as the Settlers and Inhabitants of the Colony, to apprehend the Persons referred to, who are suspected of the Piracy of the Brig Trial, on the Night of the 12th Instant. Francis Harrison, a Convict from the County Gaol, Dublin, tried Dec. 1814, for 7 years, 30 years of age, by trade a stonemason, native of Dublin, 5 feet 8¾ inches high, dark brown hair, black eyes, dark ruddy complexion, arrived per ship Guildford 2d, and was employed in the Stonemason's Gang, Sydney. Francis Harrison was convicted at Dublin in December 1814. 7yr sentence. Transported to New South Wales, Australia per the 'Guildford' arriving 08/04/1816. Aged 30yrs; stonemason. One of the convicts who escaped from the Colony 12/09/1816 having seized the brig ‘Trial’. No trace of them was found despite attempts to trace them. The wreck of the ‘Trial’ was however found. Some were believed to have gone bush or went in a small boat made from the shipwreck.
