Among his many assignments he spent time on Norfolk Island, 1847; was assigned to work for Stephen KYTE of Peppermint Bay, 1849 & 1850; William HASSELT of Maria Island, 1851 and John D. BALFE of Davey St., Hobart Town, 1853. Fred applied for permission to marry Mary DAVIS on 1 March 1851 in Hobart Town, Van Diemen's Land but was refused 2 March 1852, according to his records, Fred absconded and attempted to escape aboard a whaling boatbut was recaptured. Mary DAVIS and Frederick HARRISON were finally married on 9 May 1853 in Hobart Town, Van Diemen's Land Frederick gained his ticket of leave on 6 December 1853 and finally a conditional pardon on 13 November 1855 Their children included William Thomas HARRISON 1853-1864 Catherine HARRISON 1855-1922 Benjamin Brown HARRISON 1857-1935 Agnes HARRISON 1859-1942 Fanny HARRISON 1861-1925 Mary Jane HARRISON 1863-1925? George Christopher Davis HARRISON 1871-1908
