According to my family history William Hartley was my Great Great Grandfather he married ??? Margerat Roper Chambers in New Norfolk Tasmania on the 26th July 1841 they had six children. He died 1853/54 she died 1852 both are buried at Buninyong. There are an enormous number of unanswered question that need resolving

also know as William John Hatley PENNY from Essex, England. He was unmarried and died in Australia 1842. He had family links to WARREN at Essex. William was tried and sentenced in Hertingfordbury in 1834 for Theft. A front page 1868 The Sydney Morning News shows an ad placed by an English solicitor, for information of William's whereabouts.
