1831, 10 August: Thomas was convicted for housebreaking and was admitted to the Justitia prison hulk at Woolwich on 1 September. There he was listed as 30 years old. 1832, 10 February: He was sent from the Justitia for transportation (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849). 1832: On arrival in VDL, Thomas Harwood was single, a joiner carpenter and aged 21 (note the 9 year difference in ages given in two records). He was assigned to the Loan Gang and then to Reverend R Gibbs (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-20$init=CON31-1-20p160). 1840, 13 April: He received a Ticket of Leave. 1846, 13 June: His Conditional Pardon was approved.
