Ellen, and her sister Mary, Haurahan were convicted for Arson at Tipperary, Ireland on 16 July 1850. 10 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar' arriving 1851. Aged 20yrs; country servant; Roman Catholic. Native place - Tipperary. Sister Mary also transported on this ship. Assignments of service in the Colony. Applied for permission to marry Thomas Ogden. Permission revoked. Ticket of Leave 8 Aug 1854. Conditional Pardon 16 Sep 1856.
