Shropshire Summer Assizes. ... Condemned and Reprieved— ... John Haywood, for house-breaking at Wtrestloitt (?) ; and for horse-stealing at the parish of St. Chad's. .. British Press, 8 Aug 1818. At Shrewsbury, ten prisoners were capitally convicted, viz. ... John Haywood, and Thos. Hughes, for horse-stealing; ... They were all afterwards reprieved except Ashcroft, Timmins, and Richards. Worcester Journal, 13 Aug 1818.
