20/3/1844 Derby Mercury Derbyshire, England: Samuel Robinson, of Stanley, and George Hazlehurst, of Barlborough, charged with stealing a quantity of wheat, and oats, the property of Jane Wingfield and Hannah Wilson. Samuel Robinson was also onboard. George Hazlehurst was listed as 28 years old on arrival in VDL - he was born at Clarn, near Chesterfield. George was maried with 3 children - wife Mary at Balbrook. Father: George Mother: martha Brothers: John, Joseph Sister: Susan near Chesterfield. George was 5'5ΒΌ" tall, ruddy complexion, brown hair, red whiskers, brown eyes,can read and write, freckled, stout made scar on forefinger left hand, scar on forefinger right hand. 25/9/1849: TOL 22/3/1854: Free Certificate - Working for himself. 3/6/1892: George died, aged 81, of senile debility, he was buried at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery.
