The Assizes for the County of Wilts were held at Salisbury Monday and Tuesday last, before Mr Justice Lawrence and Mr Baron Graham. Three prisoners were capitally convicted and received sentence of death, viz. Thomas Hoadley for stealing a mare from Streatham, in Surrey, which he sold in this county, near his own house, stating that he had bought it at a fair in Berkshire; Isaac Rawlins, for stealing £150 in notes and other property, in the dwelling-house of Lucy Jarvis at Pewsey; and Jeremiah Bray, for breaking into the house of John Gibson, at North Bradley, and stealing therefrom a coat, hat, and other wearing apparel. … Oxford University and City Herald, 5 Aug 1809
