In the colony, Matthew had a relationship with Elizabeth Hughes (Convict, 'Elizabeth', 1818. They had a daughter Anne, born 24th February 1819. Ann married John Byrne in 1834. He was the son of Patrick Byrne (Convict, 'Marquis Cornwallis', 1796) and Sarah Best (Convict, 'Britannia', 1798). Matthew can be located in the 1828 Census: Ref [H1185 page 185] Healy, Matthew, 35, FBS, Guildford, 1818, 7 years, Catholic, pound keeper at Goulburn Plains. However, no information on any partner is given.
