Daughter of Ann HENDERSON, Margaret BANE (BAINE), born 1848 at Ayre, Scotland was also known by family name of BUCHANAN. Margaret BUCHANAN married Jesse LARKIN (transported per 'Nile') at Campbell Town, Tasmania in 1864. (Jesse LARKIN had previously been married to Mary LALOR, per 'John Calvin'. Mary had died in Feb. 1864.)




Ann Henderson was convicted at Glasgow on 29/09/1851 for stealing a shirt. 1 prev. conviction. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Sir Robert Seppings', arriving 08/07/1852. Protestant; can read; housemaid; 26yrs of age; single, 1 child; 5'2"; fresh complexion; brown hair; blue eyes. Native Place: Ayr, Scotland. Ship Surgeon's Report: excellent & exemplary. Services in the Colony, including Hobart, Sandy Bay, Oatlands and House of Correction. Daughter Margaret Bane(father listed as John Bane) admitted to Queens Orphan School, New Town, Hobart on 13/07/1852, aged 6yrs. Discharged to mother,now on Ticket of Leave, 15/03/1855. Married Henry Taylor 14/1/1852. Ticket of Leave 12/12/1854.
