Parents were Margaret Penman and Thomas Henderson, cabinet maker. Grandfather was Peter (Patrick) Henderson from Kinross. Wife in Scotland was Grace Watts. Wife in Australia was Ann Fox. Died at Glamorgan, Tasmania in 1861.

Thomas HENDERSON was convicted at Edinburgh, Scotland on 14 May 1844 for stealing a mahogany plank. Previous conviction. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'William Jardine' arriving 20 Nov 1844. A cabinet maker, aged 28yrs; 5'7", married, 3 children, fair complexion, dk brown hair, Hazel eyes. Wife - Grace Native Place of Birth: Edinburgh, Scotland. VDL: 15mth Probation Period. Station Gang: Rocky Hills.
