SUPREME CRIMINAL COURT. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 2 John Hennessy was indicted for an assault on the person of Ann M'Adams, 6 years old, on the 10th of November last at Cox's River, with intent to commit a rape. From the testimony of the child, conjoined with that of the mother, it appeared that the prisoner was one of a party of 15 prisoners of the crown on their route to Bathurst; and during their stay at Cox's River, for the purpose of procuring some provisions, the prisoner succeeded in decoying the child to the rear of the house, where he perpetrated the diabolic assault for which he now stood his trial. The facts being too satisfactorily proved, the verdict was Guilty.—Remanded. Sydney Gazette, 10 Feb 1825. SUPREME CRIMINAL COURT. MONDAY, MARCH 28.
