… the following were capitally convicted and received sentence of death : … William Boyce and Henry Barker for robbing the shop of W. Waller, of Hingham ; … and Henry and James Eggatt, (brothers) for stopping Mr. Brett, of Lynn, on the highway between that place and Downham, on the 18th ult. — They attacked him at South Runeton, and knocked  him off his horse, when one most inhumanly beat him about the head and arms with a hoe  while the other robbed him of a gold watch, a guinea, and an eighteen-penny bank token. — All the 14 capital convicts were reprieved, except the two Eggatts, who are to be executed on the Castle Hill on Saturday next.  Bury and Norwich Post, 9 April 1817. The two Eggatts who were to have been executed this day on the Castle Hill, Norwich, for a highway robbery, have been respited during the Prince Regent's pleasure. Suffolk Chronicle, 12 April 1817.
