NSW Government Gazette has a Henry, William on list of "Runaways Apprehended", 28Feb., 1838, Sovereign (1)- James Oatley, George St., Sydney (whom I presume was his master.) Oatley was an ex-convict, watchmaker and in charge of Town Clock. Had land-grant near Kingsgrove and gave his name to modern suburb of Oatley.




Correction: It was Joseph Perry.




1/7/1844: Tried at Sydney Supreme Court for the manslaughter of Joseph Parry, a TOL man who had come between William and another man in a fight, Joseph Parry was hit in the belly and died - transportation for life. 2/9/1844: Arrived in VDL. William was then 28 years old, a Gardener, 5'4" tall, dark complexion, dark brown hair and eyes, single, protestant and could read and write. 1851: TOL 4/4/1854: TOL revoked - being absent from muster.




William Henry was 19 years old and his occupation was a "Factory Boy". He was single and his native place was Antrim. 17/3/1840: COF
