This is my great grandmothers father so my great great grandfather. He "married" (defacto) Dinah Alford in 1866 and moved to NZ by July 1867 he became a well respected member of the community, discovering an almost extinct species of tree and later planted trees in Cambridge Park, Cambridge NZ, a town very famous for its tree line streets and gardens. He had sons George, Reuben, Samuel and daughters Eliza Butler (nee Henson) my great grandmother, Jane and Martha.

He was my GG uncle and was freed in 1852 after serving 14 years. He lived in Melbourne for a while then moved to New Zealand where he raised his family. He originated from the Elsham area of Lincolnshire.
